One of the pleasant perks of my work as a researcher at Wageningen Livestock Research is that I am regularly invited to share my knowledge on parent stock in other countries. For instance, in March I was in South Africa at the invitation of a major broiler integration – Astral Foods. This company keeps approximately 3 million Ross 308 broiler breeders.
