Hendrix Genetics is accelerating the genetic engine of its turkey breeding program with a multi-year, €10 million investment in research and development. This investment is an additional commitment beyond the company’s existing R&D budget. The investment will focus on 3 pillars of the genetic progress: increasing selection intensity, improving the accuracy of breeding values, and expanding genetic variation. To support these goals, the company will upgrade and expand its facilities in North America and Europe. The investment will enable the integration of advanced tools and technologies to enhance the data collection accuracy and efficiency, while streamlining the pipeline that brings top genetics to market.
Adisseo has developed Feed Digestibility Check (FDC), which is a field-based service that allows poultry professionals to predict the actual Apparent Metabolisable Energy (AME) of feed, based on samples taken on-farm. FDC combines feed and faeces sampling on-site, NIR analysis and prediction, and a robust model based on 2,000+ samples from 47 in vivo trials. Results are delivered in 24 hours via the PNE platform, providing a rapid and practical way to assess real feed utilisation.
ADM and Alltech have signed an agreement to launch a North American animal feed joint venture. Alltech will contribute its US-based Hubbard Feeds and Canada-based Masterfeeds businesses, including 18 feed mills in the US and 15 in Canada, and ADM will contribute its 11 US feed mills. The joint venture will be majority-owned by Alltech and governed by a board with equal representation from each parent company. The companies expect to complete the transaction and formally launch the joint venture in the first quarter of 2026.

De Heus India, part of De Heus Animal Nutrition, has opened a new animal feed factory in Rajpura, Punjab. The factory, built with an investment of about US$17 million, is one of the largest and most advanced in India, carrying an installed capacity of 180 kMT with the potential to expand to 240 kMT. The factory has separate production lines for cattle, buffalo, poultry, and pig feed.

DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health has inaugurated a new feed additive plant in Jadcherla, Hyderabad, India. The new facility, equipped with Bühler technology, features a manufacturing line for solutions in mycotoxin risk management (Mycofix Secure and Mycofix Shield) and a new 11,200 sqm warehouse. The plant is built adjacent to the company’s Jadcherla premix plant, which has been operating since 2018. Together, the 2 facilities form an integrated ‘Super Site’, enabling greater efficiency and faster service for customers. The local manufacturing of. Ecolex Animal Nutrition has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with CJ Bio, part of CheilJedang Group, a major South Korean international food company. This alliance will introduce CJ Bio’s Coxield and GutLuk feed additive solutions across the poultry sectors of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. Coxield and GutLuk aim to support gut health and disease management.

The next edition of VIV Select China is scheduled for 19-21 August 2026 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
The 3-phytase product ePhyt has been granted new EU authorisation. The main reason for applying for a new authorisation was a change in the production strain. The holder of the authorisation is Fertinagro Biotech. This product is authorised for use in the EU in chickens, turkeys and pigs for fattening. Both liquid and solid forms of the additive are available.
Utrix S.A.L. has announced its official expansion into the Jordanian market, marking an important milestone in the company’s regional growth journey. Hendrix Genetics, which celebrates 20 years this year, is strengthening its genetic foundation through a strategic investment in a state-of-the-art facility in the Netherlands, designed to support its Layers and Traditional Poultry programs. Equipped with real-time feed stations and advanced housing systems, the facility is designed to optimise breeding outcomes and accelerate genetic progress in traits such as egg production persistency, livability, animal welfare, and eggshell quality. Operations began in August, with full capacity expected within 6-8 months.
Thanks to a cooperative enterprise with the Novus team in Thailand, Kasetsart University has a new Broiler Research Unit, located at the Animal Science Learning Center at the Department of Animal Science. The facility is designed to generate high-impact research and practical insights for broiler producers operating in tropical environments across Southeast Asia. The facility will support commercial-scale trials and student engagement, blending applied research with academic development.
