We’re keeping our finger on the pulse and bring you a summary of the latest business updates from the global poultry industry from April, including a new broiler feed additive from Trouw Nutrition, intelligent incubator technology from Petersime, and a microbiome analytics service from DSM-Firmenich. This and more from the global poultry industry.
Trouw Nutrition says its new feed additive Presan Evolve has been designed to help high-performing broiler chickens cope with stress, inflammation, and gut health issues that come with rapid growth. It combines plant-based compounds and butyrates to support resilience, feed efficiency, and overall performance. New research presented at the event showed that this approach can improve growth performance and help maintain productivity in modern poultry production systems.
Petersime has launched UniStreamer, its next-generation single-stage incubators, blending chick uniformity with full end-to-end traceability for hatcheries. Key innovations draw from nature-inspired tech like HatchSound and HatchScan, enabling Embryo-Response Incubation, which auto-adapts conditions to each egg batch for tighter hatch windows and better hatch/post-hatch performance. Traceability via unique trolley IDs and Eagle Trax cloud software tracks eggs/chicks from farm storage/transport through incubation. This boosts biosecurity, data-driven optimisation, and audit readiness. Available in configurations like UniStreamer HD (12% higher capacity), it includes complementary Re-Store (pre-hatch) and Chick-Store (post-hatch) systems.
DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health has launched SciTell Microbiome Analytics, a new, industry-leading and easy-to-use diagnostic service designed to give poultry producers fast, data-driven insight into gut health and performance. The microbiome analysis service assesses broiler gut health using non-invasive sampling and analyses microbial DNA, then translates results into standardised gut health indices, providing a clear view of microbiome balance, pathogen pressure and overall performance. Each result is benchmarked against a large global reference dataset of chicken microbiomes, offering deeper gut health context and enabling comparison across farms and production stages.
ZinproCorporation, manufacturer of organic trace minerals and animal nutrition solutions, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, Bringing the Zinpro Effect to Life, highlighting progress in emissions reduction, water stewardship, waste management, innovation and social impact. The report also notes continued investment in manufacturing upgrades, renewable energy and employee wellbeing.
