Turkey production mainly unchanged

This year’s Christmas turkey production in the UK should be about the same as last year, despite falling away towards the end of the placement season. Placings of day old poults in the key 3 months of July, August and September were just 1% down on the same period of 2016, with a 20% increase in July offsetting smaller declines in the following 2 months.
