Zoetis launches digital resource for poultry vaccine administration best practices

Zoetis is offering a new, comprehensive digital resource library designed to help poultry producers through consistent, effective vaccine handling and administration. Built to support commercial broiler, layer and turkey operations, the digital hub offers best practice guidance for hatchery – in ovo and spray cabinet – field spray, drinking water, wing web, intramuscular or subcutaneous, and intraocular vaccinations. Tools include videos, downloadable illustrated how-to guidelines and posters, and useful articles.

Orbem secures €55.5 million to scale its AI-powered MRI technology

Orbem, the Munich-based deep tech company bringing AI-powered MRI technology to the poultry sector, has announced a €55.5 million Series B funding round that will help them build the next generation of poultry solutions. Technologies by the company include the Genus Focus for non-invasive in-ovo sexing, and the Genus Scale to detect the fertilisation status of eggs before incubation. With this investment, the company aims to discover more insights from every egg, and invest in hardware and software upgrades to make its current systems faster and more robust. New tools will also help the team turn the data from every scan into intelligence that informs customers’ operations.

DSM-Firmenich, Hardeman Egg Group and Royal Agrifirm Group partner

DSM-Firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, Hardeman Egg Group and Royal Agrifirm Group have joined forces to make sustainable eggs more affordable and accessible. The partnership aims to give consumers access to eggs that have been produced more sustainably than conventional eggs, while maintaining a comparable price point and simultaneously enabling companies along the value chain to meet their sustainability commitments in a cost-effective way. DSM-Firmenich’s Sustell carbon value program will be key. The companies have already completed a commercial pilot.

Baader highlights AI and digital intelligence at IPPE

At IPPE, Baader showcased its ClassifEYE vision technology, which pairs camera-based inspection with AI for fast, consistent, data-driven decisions in poultry processing, automating deviation detection to optimize yields and quality. Complementing this, the Emydex MES and digital platform acts as BAADER’s digital backbone, unifying equipment and processes for live dashboards, predictive maintenance, end-to-end transparency, and performance gains—helping processors manage complexity and maximize every gram of product.

MS Schippers celebrates 60 years with a tribute to farmers

MS Schippers marks its 60th anniversary by paying tribute to the hard-working farmers it has stood alongside for 60 years. What started in 1966 with ear tags has developed into a focus on farm hygiene, supporting farmers with solutions for cleaning, disinfecting, water quality, pest control and animal care. Its global anniversary campaign centres on this message: Farmers are the hardest working people in hygiene.

Trouw Nutrition’s 2025 mycotoxin review: Key insights for 2026

Trouw Nutrition will present its annual Global Mycotoxin Review on 5 February at 9 am CET (English) and 4 pm CET (Spanish). Dr Swamy Haladi, global category director for Mould & Mycotoxin Management, will keynote the English language session, with guest presenter Avinash Bhat breaking down the data and providing early-year predictions. Dr Daniel Miranda will keynote the Spanish session, with guest presenter Eugenio Alcalde reviewing data analytics and early predictions.

Alltech 2025 Global Harvest Broadcast is now available on demand

Alltech’s live broadcast, ‘From Field to Feed: 2025 Crop and Mycotoxin Analysis’ in January shared timely insights into harvest conditions and emerging mycotoxin risks. Elevated mycotoxin findings in key regions was highlighted, as well as weather data that shows the direct impact of the climate on crop production. It was also noted that accelerated progress has been made in mycotoxin predictive models.

HyCare launches a rat trap that reports its own catches

HyCare has launched its own digital rat trap, designed specifically for the livestock industry. The new trap is fully waterproof, dustproof, and ammonia-resistant. A stronger spring and serrated edge ensure pests can’t escape. Plus, the battery lasts at least 5 years, and farmers get an instant app notification – complete with a digital floor plan – the moment a pest is caught.

Aviagen launches 2024 Sustainability Report

Aviagen has released its 2024 Sustainability Report which shares progress in sustainability through breeding, environmental responsibility, and long-term resilience. The report shows how global sustainability priorities are translated into meaningful local action across regions and markets.

Novus releases global soybean data

Novus’ new ‘Outsmarting Trypsin Inhibitors’ white paper draws on more than a decade’s worth of data to explain why trypsin inhibitor in soybean meal is a persistent and often underestimated challenge in modern feed formulation. Data from more than 1,900 soybean meal samples globally shows that trypsin inhibitor levels are highly variable across regions, years, and processing methods, and even small increases can negatively impact amino acid digestibility, feed efficiency, and animal performance. This paper shares lessons learned and explains why routinely monitoring TI is becoming increasingly important.

Dr. Eckel introduces AntaSync

Dr. Eckel Animal Nutrition’s new phytogenic feed additive, AntaSync, is a combination of polyphenol-rich plant ingredients with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce the metabolic cost of stress responses and supports more efficient energy utilisation. The formulation is distinguished by its high content of secondary plant substances, with double-soluble polyphenols that enable optimal absorption in both fat and water environment in the animals.

Novus presented studies at IPSF 2026

From variability at the feed mill to processing-level outcomes, 5 new studies were presented by Novus and its research partners at the 2026 International Poultry Scientific Forum (IPSF). Presentations were: Zn-Methionine hydroxy-analogue chelate supplementation improves carcass quality in broilers under commercial conditions; dietary protease mitigates the negative effects of trypsin inhibitors on digestive function and gut health in broilers beyond super-dose phytase (performance and jejunum and pancreas transcriptomics); gene expression explained the benefits of HMTBa-Chelates of zinc and manganese under different copper programs on broiler performance, and; effects of inorganic, HMTBa-chelated trace mineral, or blended sources of zinc, copper, and manganese on the egg quality of laying hens.
