A pilot study on viral status at broiler farms is ongoing with the aim of increasing awareness of the importance of cleaning and disinfecting broiler houses. In general, viral status is not given sufficient attention when broiler barns are cleaned, says Richard Rietema, poultry vet and co-owner of Poultry Practice North & East in the Netherlands.
