
Poultry World’s recently hosted an insightful webinar featuring leading experts who shared practical strategies and the latest research on gut health. The session explored how targeted additives can boost immune resilience and improve coccidiosis control, alongside the role of botanicals in reducing disease risks for more efficient poultry production.
The first expert speaker to present was Maarten de Gussem, managing director of Vetworks and global poultry consultant. His presentation covered gut health associated disorders (coccidiosis/BE), the financial impact of coccidiosis and more. His presentation was titled, ‘From prevention to performance: Rethinking disease management in poultry production’.
The following speaker was Dr Tim Goossens, global scientific & technical manager at Adisseo. His presentation discussed the 3 layers of gut health, explaining in detail the gut epithelium and how certain probiotics can strengthen the gut epithelial barrier. His presentation was titled: ‘How probiotics can make animals more resilient to disease’.
The final speaker was Marie-Sophie Schneegans, product manager at Nor-Feed. She discussed current coccidial risk management, saponin-based solutions as efficient as fermentation coccidiostats and chemicals and turning science into success. Her presentation was titled, ‘When science embraces nature: efficient coccidial risk management with botanicals’.
