The French department of agriculture has announced a change in the methods of Salmonella screening at laying hen farms. The new method is based on the vaccination status of the farm. In vaccinated farms, control screenings will now be solely on droppings samples. In unvaccinated farms, the current rules will remain in force, with samples taken both from the manure and from the animals’ environment.
